April is an Atlanta-based editorial photographer, specializing in imagery for the fashion, music, and entertainment industries. She has worked with fashion designers all along the East Coast, from Atlanta and Charleston to New York City, creating imagery for their advertising campaigns, as well as their look books. April also regularly photographs musicians, actors/actresses, and other personalities for their promotional imagery needs and head shots. April is co-founder of the team MODA Creative Artists, which she–along with her friend, renowned hair and make-up artist,
Karen Filos–created to serve the needs of professional clients for art direction and full-service conceptual imagery. April’s work has been published in such magazines as
Jezebel,
Georgia Music Magazine, Fashion Chicago Magazine, and
Manner & Lane. She has established a reputation for the welcoming and friendly way she treats her clients and her subjects on set, making them feel immediately comfortable, at ease, and special. The end result is imagery that truly captures the subject’s personality and the conceptual mood of the project.
Beyond the Lens . . .
Outside photography, April is an avid runner (all distances). She ran the 2012 Marine Corps Marathon and was instantly hooked on long distance running, although the 13.1 races and trail series are her favorite. A former dancer trained in rhythm and smooth ballroom, as well as jazz, April was formerly a member of the University of Georgia Ballroom Performance Group and has performed extensively, including abroad for the Curaçao Salsa Tour. April’s educational background includes degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as the University of Georgia (Broadcast Journalism). Giving back to the local community in which she was raised is very important to April.
